The Sunrise Felucca is Egypt’s classic Nile sailboat. The felucca has remained the Nile’s major mode of transit for ages and Its old design still adorns the river, as it has since the Pharaohs’ time. Despite the fact that motorized barges move bulk cargo and modern cruise ships transport guests, the felucca survives. The felucca rarely has an engine and relies completely on the breeze that develops throughout the day and typically diminishes at night, as well as the current of the Nile River. Egypt has a strong southerly breeze that propels sailboats upriver while allowing them to return downstream on the river.
This is the perfect way to see the beauty of Egypt in an exciting and relaxed manner. So the adventure comes in our choice of Nile transportation, a single-masted, lateen-rigged sailing boat known as a felucca. These age-old Nile workhorses allow us to sail between the magnificent sights along the river, witnessing rural life pass us by. The itinerary may need to be adjusted according to wind and currents, but the program is designed to allow for flexibility.
