The idea of this book was born in 2014 when I was accompanying a group of tourists to Dendera Temple as a tour guide. While I was sitting at the entrance of Goddess Hathor temple, when I was talking to the guardians of the temple until my group had finished taking some pictures, some visitors to the temple stopped me and did not have a tour guide, and they asked me some questions about the scenes and texts on the walls of the temple. Who is this king? And what does he do? What these symbols and figures represent? What is the meaning of these hieroglyphic texts? …etc.
Since that moment I have realized that it is necessary to write a book to help people who visit this beautiful temple, as a guide through which they know the diverse parts and details of Dendera temple complex.
When I started writing this book, I had to take into consideration, not only the tourists but also tourist guide, the Egyptology students, and also the amateurs who loves Egypt and Egyptology.
This book is a comprehensive guide to Dendera temple complex, which focuses not only on the description of Dendera temple complex, but also the temples and believers in ancient Egypt, priests and priesthood, excerpts from the ancient Egyptian mythology, Pantheon, festivals, Zodiacs of Dendera temple complex.
